Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required

  • More than 15 years of professional experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal processing, or related fields, including direct experience in research and development of AI/ML systems ;
  • Strong proficiency in software development using one or more of the following languages and frameworks: Python, Java, C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, or equivalent enterprise-grade platforms ;
  • Proven ability to translate complex AI/ML concepts into actionable recommendations for non-specialist audiences, including military and defence -sector stakeholders .

Desirable

  • Experience with AI/ML application domains directly relevant to defence and military systems, including but not limited to: target characterisation , trajectory estimation, sensor data fusion, situational awareness, and decision-support systems ;
  • Participation in international standardisation bodies or working groups related to AI, signal processing, or communications ;
  • Experience with NATO C4ISR systems or defence -related software development, including familiarity with relevant standards and mission application architectures (e.g. BMC3I systems, JCHAT, XMPP, Link16, NVG) .

Duties/role:

  • Contributing to NCIA Ballistic Missile Defence Programme Office activities ;
  • Leading the identification and scoping of AI/ML use cases for (T)BMD and IAMD challenges ;
  • Reviewing existing NIAG SG300 reports and TBMD simulation data .
